How do I set up Miles?
Setup takes about 5 minutes. Park somewhere safe with a clear view of the sky (a driveway works better than a garage for GPS and cell signal), and keep your keys, phone, and Miles Plug handy.
- Download the Miles app. Scan the code inside the box lid for the quick-start guide and the app.
- Create your account. Miles sends a one-time unique 8-digit code to your email instead of asking you to set a password.
- Follow the in-app instructions. The app walks you through every step.
- Plug in Miles. When the app tells you to, find your OBD-II port, usually under the dash in the driver's-side footwell just left of the steering column. Plug in your Miles device (push firmly until it seats) and then start your car. Check your owner's manual if you cannot find the port.
- Drive. Take your first trip. Miles starts getting to know your car and builds a trip recap. Data can take a few minutes to appear in the app after that first drive.
