How often does Miles update the vehicle’s location?

While you’re driving, the Miles Plug typically updates your vehicle’s location about once a minute.

For even more frequent updates, make sure Bluetooth and Location permissions are turned on for the Miles app. When your phone is near the car and connected to the Plug, Miles can update the vehicle’s location about every 5 seconds.

If the Plug has trouble getting a strong GPS signal, Miles may temporarily use your phone’s location to help keep the vehicle’s location accurate.

What about my privacy?
Miles only uses your phone’s location while during an active trip and your phone is in the vehicle. It does not track your phone when you’re away from the car or when the vehicle is turned off.

Miles may also use your phone’s location when you choose to use certain features, such as viewing your location on the map, saving a Place, or requesting roadside assistance.
