What do the lights on Miles Plug mean?
A green light means your Miles Plug is working normally. If it isn’t green right away, give it 5–10 minutes of driving. During startup, the light may cycle through white, cyan, and blue while Miles connects to your vehicle, finds its location, and establishes a cellular connection.
There are two lights you shouldn’t wait out:
Solid blue for more than one minute — Your Miles Plug may have a device fault. Contact our support team for help.
Yellow for several minutes — Miles has a location but isn’t receiving data from your vehicle. Unplug the Miles Plug, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in firmly until it is fully seated in the port.
What each color means
Green — Everything is working. Miles has vehicle data, time sync, and a GPS fix.
White — No vehicle data, time sync, or GPS fix yet. The Plug may have just powered on or may be sleeping.
Cyan — Miles is receiving vehicle data but does not have time sync or a GPS fix yet.
Blue — Miles has vehicle data and time sync but is still waiting for a GPS fix.
Yellow — Miles has time sync and a GPS fix but is not receiving vehicle data.
Red — Miles is installing a firmware update. Leave the Plug connected until the update is complete.
What do the blinking lights mean?
The light normally blinks while Miles connects to the cellular network. The number of blinks counts down from seven to two as the connection is established. Two blinks means Miles is connected.
A solid light can appear briefly during startup. If the light stays solid blue for more than one minute, contact our support team.
