How do emergency contacts work?
Everyone on your account is already an emergency contact, so there is no separate list to manage.
If Miles detects a crash, it sends alerts to all account drivers linking to information on the crash (vehicle's location). With Miles Guard, the 24/7 monitoring center also calls to see if help is needed. It reaches the most likely driver first when it can tell who is behind the wheel from the vehicle's assigned primary driver, then works through other potential drivers until someone answers. If nobody answers, or if help is needed, the specialist requests first responders.
To add someone, invite them to your account, assign them to vehicles, and have them turn on notifications.
IMPORTANT: Automatic Crash Response is not a substitute for calling 911 or other emergency services. If you are able to do so and need immediate assistance, contact emergency services directly. Crash detection is designed for significant impacts. It may not detect every collision. Miles cannot guarantee that emergency services or roadside assistance will be available or arrive within a specific timeframe. Response times and availability depend on factors outside of Miles’ control, including your location, local emergency services, roadside provider availability, traffic, weather, network connectivity, and other conditions.
